A documentary series shining a light on the often hidden world of LGBTQ + Catholic stories, lives, and experiences.

What is it like to grow up catholic and gay? Or catholic and bisexual, or catholic and transgender? We’ve seen stories from the gay christian world, but what about an affirming look at LGBTQ catholics, ex-catholics, and everyone in between?

Hate the Sin is a limited run documentary series that seeks to amplify LGBTQ voices sharing their stories of catholicism: the good, the bad, and the gray. There is no one monolithic experience here, and a major goal of the series is to show people who might be in the closet that it’s okay to be themselves. Other christian denominations have queer visibility and conversation, and it’s high time the catholic world does too.

This series will not be recounting the very rich history of LGBTQ Catholics but instead highlight personal modern experiences to raise awareness and visibility.
